A lady visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officials mentioned Tuesday.
The 25-year-old woman, who was visiting from Ohio, was not identified in a news launch from the park.
The lady approached the feminine bison Monday morning after it got here close to a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, near Outdated Trustworthy geyser, the park stated.

Fuller / VWPics via AP Images filePark rules require guests to stay more than 25 yards from the animals, the largest mammals in North America, which are unpredictable, can top speeds of 35 mph and might bounce several feet.
An estimated 2,300 to 5,500 bison reside on the park, and they have injured more people than some other animal, the park mentioned.
When the visitor got here inside 10 feet of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 ft in the air, the park said.
The girl had puncture wounds and other injuries and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service mentioned. Her condition was unknown Tuesday.
Two other folks were also close to the animal when it gored the girl, the park mentioned. The discharge didn’t say if they had been injured.
The park warned people to remain 25 yards from bison, elk, bighorn sheep and moose and a minimum of 100 yards from bears and wolves.
CORRECTION (June 1, 2022, 12:07 p.m. ET) A previous version of this article misstated the severity of the woman’s injuries. She was gored by a bison and suffered puncture wounds. She was not killed.
