Florida man will get life in jail for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met online, according to officials.

The U.S. Division of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two totally different times in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Courtroom data say he flew back and forth disguising himself as an English trainer.

A number of the boys, in accordance with the DOJ, had been lured with guarantees of money and presents. Others introduced him as their English instructor.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis. It was part of Venture Secure Childhood, which was an effort to search out child sex abuse began in 2006 by the DOJ.
