Talking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead until I feel higher about the route of our nation."
In a weblog post, Kapler questioned whether or not the country's leadership is dedicated to representing its people's finest interests and whether the USA is actually "the land of the free and the house of the brave.""We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her kids. They blocked parents trying to prepare to charge in to cease the shooter, together with a father who realized his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians determine that the lobbyist and gun industries are more important than our children's freedom to go to high school without having bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.
Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the shortage of delivery of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."
"I am not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I could have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that while you're dissatisfied with your country, you let it be recognized through protest. The house of the courageous should encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action in opposition to gun violence in america.Kerr refused to discuss basketball forward of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' sequence against the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed against gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's taking pictures.
"In the last 10 days, we have had aged Black individuals killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've children murdered in school," Kerr instructed reporters initially of the press convention.
"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I'm so uninterested in getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated families which are out there ... I'm bored with the moments of silence. Enough."
