Talking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead until I feel better about the route of our nation."

In a blog put up, Kapler questioned whether the nation's leadership is committed to representing its people's greatest interests and whether the United States is truly "the land of the free and the house of the brave."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked dad and mom making an attempt to arrange to cost in to cease the shooter, including a father who learned his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians resolve that the lobbyist and gun industries are more important than our kids's freedom to go to school without having bulletproof backpacks and energetic shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the dearth of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I might have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied along with your country, you let or not it's known by protest. The home of the courageous should encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action in opposition to gun violence in the US.

Kerr refused to discuss basketball ahead of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' sequence in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's taking pictures.

"In the final 10 days, we have had elderly Black people killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've youngsters murdered in school," Kerr instructed reporters at first of the press conference.

"When are we going to do something? I am tired. I'm so uninterested in getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated families which are on the market ... I'm uninterested in the moments of silence. Sufficient."
