Talking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead till I feel better in regards to the direction of our country."
In a blog submit, Kapler questioned whether the country's leadership is dedicated to representing its folks's best pursuits and whether or not the US is actually "the land of the free and the house of the brave.""We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the lack of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."
"I am not okay with the state of this country. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I could have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied with your nation, you let or not it's recognized via protest. The house of the courageous should encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action in opposition to gun violence in the US.Kerr refused to speak about basketball forward of Sport 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative raising his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's shooting.
"Within the final 10 days, we've had aged Black folks killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have now children murdered at school," Kerr advised reporters firstly of the press convention.
"When are we going to do something? I am drained. I'm so uninterested in getting up here and providing condolences to the devastated households which are on the market ... I am tired of the moments of silence. Enough."
