BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after multiple indicators saying "school shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Safety announced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple prices.
Guy Hanson. New Hampshire State PoliceAn elevated amount of police officers were placed at colleges in the communities on account of the indicators. Multiple colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.
Hanson allegedly positioned the signs around the communities, the Department of Security stated, however they determined there isn't any credible risk at this time.
The New Hampshire Department of Security is investigating signs that read 'college shooter!' which had been found in a number of communities New Hampshire Division of SafetyOne such signal was written on a paper plate. The protection department released a photograph of the plate but blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation."
Hanson was arrested on a felony charge of prison threatening and three misdemeanor prices including false report back to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.
No different suspects have been charged at this time.
