The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Independent College District police power are now not cooperating with the Texas Division of Public Security's investigation into the bloodbath at Robb Elementary Faculty and the state's evaluate of the legislation enforcement response, a number of legislation enforcement sources tell ABC Information.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Impartial Faculty District did not instantly respond to requests for comment from ABC Information.

In response to sources, the decision to stop cooperating occurred quickly after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news convention Friday throughout which he mentioned the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the unsuitable choice" and contrary to protocol.

Reached by ABC News, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Security stated, "The Uvalde Police Department and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police supplied an initial interview however has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days in the past."

Final Tuesday's assault, one of many worst faculty shootings in U.S. historical past, left 19 kids and two adults dead.
