Days after a minimum of 19 elementary college college students and two lecturers had been killed in a mass taking pictures at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, college students at faculties around the country staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

In Michigan, students at Oxford High School, where a college taking pictures occurred in November, staged a walkout at 12 p.m. on Thursday. 4 students had been killed in the taking pictures.

"You see news day-after-day about kids getting shot and folks your age dying and it is just extremely unhappy and unbelievable, especially to see like kids younger and kids my age," Janoff advised ABC Information. "I cant imagine that being me; but it's imaginable as a result of it occurs so typically."

The 17 year-old says her college's administration was in support of the walkout and she hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations across the nation ship a transparent message that students are a "united front."

A walkout might not essentially change laws, Janoff mentioned, but these actions present "college students are still united in this."

She stated that although most students aren't sufficiently old to vote, they still need to see change and are prepared to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students do not should be quiet about it just because they are a kid," Janoff said.
