"You see information each day about kids getting shot and other people your age dying and it is simply extremely unhappy and unbelievable, particularly to see like kids youthful and kids my age," Janoff instructed ABC News. "I cant imagine that being me; but it is possible as a result of it happens so typically."

The 17 year-old says her school's administration was in assist of the walkout and he or she hopes the over 200 deliberate demonstrations across the country send a transparent message that college students are a "united entrance."

A walkout may not necessarily change laws, Janoff stated, but these actions show "students are still united on this."

She mentioned that though most students aren't old enough to vote, they nonetheless need to see change and are prepared to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"Students don't have to be quiet about it just because they seem to be a kid," Janoff mentioned.
